ANZ First Credit Card Review

Reviewed on 19 October 2020 by Vas – credit card expert & co-founder of Compare the Card

If you’re looking for a simple everyday credit card with a low ongoing annual fee, the ANZ First hits the spot and also comes with 0% p.a. for 18 months on balance transfers (2% balance transfer fee applies).

What do we like about this card?

The ANZ First is a credit card aimed at those that are looking for the convenience of a credit card in order to access payment systems such as Apple Pay or Google Pay, or add to their Uber or online account for online purchases. In this respect, it hits the mark, giving access to these features and more for only $30 a year. Using this credit card, you’ll also enjoy peace of mind with ANZ’s Fraud Money Back Guarantee.

What could be better?

The 18-month balance transfer offer is great, however with 2% balance transfer fee, there may be better options on the table such as the ANZ Low Rate card. In addition, the 20.24% interest on purchases is on the higher side which again is bested by ANZ’s Low Rate offering.

Summary

The ANZ First is a top choice if you’re after a 0% p.a. balance transfer offer with a long duration.
